Sisu Analytics - Data Pulls

A private, read-only app that connects a client's QuickBooks Online company to Sisu Analytics.

What it does

Sisu Analytics is a data analytics consultancy. The app lets a client's QuickBooks Online administrator give Sisu read access to the client's accounting data. Sisu uses that data only to build the client's reports and dashboards, under the client's service agreement with Sisu.

Who can use it

It is a private app. Only Sisu Analytics clients can use it, by invitation. It is not listed in the Intuit App Store.

What it reads

  • Accounting records, for example accounts, invoices and purchases.
  • Summary reports, such as Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
  • These records can include names and contact details of the client's customers and vendors.

The app reads new and changed records once a day. It also runs a full reconciliation from time to time.

What it never does

  • It never creates, changes or deletes anything in QuickBooks. It only reads data.
  • It never sees or stores QuickBooks passwords. Sign-in happens through Intuit's OAuth 2.0.
  • It asks only for the QuickBooks Online Accounting permission. It does not ask for payments, payroll or any other permission.

How to connect

  • Sisu sends your QuickBooks administrator a secure link.
  • Your administrator opens the link and signs in with Intuit.
  • Your administrator reviews the request and approves access.

Each connection is locked to one QuickBooks company.

How to disconnect

Your QuickBooks administrator can disconnect at any time from the apps area of QuickBooks Online. You can also email Sisu at hello@sisuanalytics.com and ask us to disconnect. After a disconnect, the app can no longer read your data, and Sisu deletes the stored connection token.

Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
  • Connection credentials (the Intuit refresh token and the QuickBooks company ID) are stored encrypted in Microsoft Azure Key Vault.
  • Accounting data is stored in your own Microsoft cloud tenant. Sisu holds it in its own tenant only temporarily, and only if you require that.
  • Data that Sisu stores is kept in the United States.
  • Within Sisu, only staff and contractors who work on your engagement can access your data. They sign in with Microsoft work accounts that require multi-factor sign-in.
  • Sisu does not send your QuickBooks data to AI models.
